Police in Jersey City are checking the 60’s block of Randolph Avenue for a crime scene after a male victim arrived at the hospital suffering a bullet wound.
According to police, at approximately 7:50 p.m., a private vehicle pulled up at the emergency department of Jersey City Medical Center and rushed the seriously injured victim in the hospital with a bullet wound in his head.
The family of the victim said he was shot multiple times at point-blank range at the Randolph Avenue scene.
Police say the suspect is possibly a neighbor and officers and SWAT now have the area secured as they search for the assailant.
The victim’s condition is reportedly severe at this time.
UPDATE: 8:24pm The suspect surrendered to police without incident.
