Police rushed a shooting victim to University Hospital using their patrol car after officers found the victim in a section of Newark this evening.
Gunfire erupted in the 200 block of North 6th Street near Central Avenue around 7:24 p.m.
When cops arrived, they found the seriously injured male suffering a bullet wound in his head.
Police said they blocked off the location while detectives searched the neighborhood for possible additional victims.
The motive behind the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests have been reported.
