There is an active crime scene established in a section of Newark's South Ward as police investigate a shooting with a male struck by bullets at this time.
According to police, at around 4:38 p.m., units found the victim suffering two bullet wounds near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and South 10 the Street.
Police say the victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
NPD1 helicopters briefly joined in the search for a possible suspect who remains at-large.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
