Multiple consecutive days of shots fired incidents around Newark that injured several victims, with two of the injured suffering fatally, now had gunfire erupting near a Newark Charter School this afternoon.
At approximately 2:57 p.m., students leaving the KIPP Newark Collegiate Academy located at the interaction of 13th and Littleton avenues (the old West Ward Boy’s and Girl Club) sprinted for cover after two males exchanged nearly a dozen rounds of bullets while school adjourned.
According to witnesses, the suspects were two teenage boys who repeatedly fired across the street from Newark Collegiate Academy.
A vehicle was caught in the crossfire, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Both suspects fled the scene and remain at large.
