BREAKING: Firefighters Injured Battling 5-Alarm House Fire in Jersey City

More than two dozen firefighters are on the scene battling a raging 5-alarm fire that's burning out of control in a neighborhood in Jersey City. 

Firefighters raced to 10 Irving Street after several calls reporting fire with possibly trapped occupants inside the home shortly before 3 a.m. 

Upon arrival, crews began to stretch multiple lines after observing heavy fire bursting through the roof of the house and extending to neighborhood homes. 

Crews were able to get the upper hand of the fire after firefighters poured massive amounts of water on the stubborn fire.

Seven firefighters received medical attention for minor burns and other injuries, but they all are expected to recover. Officials said 18 residents were displaced by the blaze. 

Firefighters brought the fire under control around 4:12 a.m., with the cause under investigation. 

There were no serious injuries reported.
