Authorities in Hudson County are investigating the cause of a crash that fatally injured at least one victim in a section of Jersey City Sunday.
The early morning collision happened in the city's downtown at Merseles Street and Christopher Columbus Drive just before 3:30 a.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, police arrived at the scene and found the crashed vehicle with two unconscious victims inside.
Police say the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver suffered severe injuries.
The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the fatal crash and police closed the area to traffic for the investigation.
