Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who led them on a brief pursuit after a shooting early this morning in Elizabeth.
The suspect reportedly occupied a beige or light-colored Cadillac SUV, with a reported NJ license plate number "X91-GSB", and is wanted for shots fired that left a man injured in the vicinity of Meredith and Edgar Road before 5:25 a.m
EMS rushed the conscious and alert victim to an area hospital where his injuries were not reported as life-threatening. It is not confirmed if the man was struck by gunfire at this time.
The incident is being reported as a carjacking, and the suspect/s remain at-large according to reports.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
**UPDATE: 6:48am** There is one confirmed person shot and is being reported as (a) carjacking suspect. The remaining suspect fled in the vehicle which is said to be a retired law enforcement officer's vehicle. **Life-threatening injuries for the injured suspect**.
