Police have all eastbound lanes closed on Rt. 3 after a multi-vehicle crash left one person dead this morning in East Rutherford.
The crash was reported at around 3:30 a.m. near Met Life Stadium where emergency responders were called to the scene for a crash with injuries.
Arriving crews found several badly damaged vehicles with trapped occupants according to reports.
A man in his mid 20's was pronounced dead at the scene while EMS transported about four others to area hospitals suffering various injuries.
Police believe that at least one vehicle left the scene of the crash.
NOTE: There were NO children involved in this incident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
