Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a man with serious injuries early this morning in East Orange.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the teens block of Davis Place shortly before 3 a.m.
The taxi driver drove a couple of blocks to the police precinct where police found him suffering a gunshot wound to the face authorities said.
He was rushed to University Hospital where his injuries are reported to be serious but stable.
A crime scene was set up on Munn Avenue and on Davis Place where authorities searched for evidence and a possible suspect.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
There were no reports of any arrests made.
UPDATE 5:49 a.m. Police are looking for a light colored vehicle (possibly a Nissan or a Acura) occupied by three black males who were armed with a shot gun.
