Police have a crash investigation team on the scene of a violent collision that has injuries reported on a NJ highway at this time.
The Somerset County crash happened at approximately 5:55 a.m. in the vicinity of West End Avenue and Route 22 in North Plainfield where emergency responders rushed to the scene after they received reports of a crash with injuries reported.
Upon their arrival, they found a severely injured person outside of a crashed vehicle with one other injured victim trapped in a car according to preliminary reports.
Both victims were rushed to an area hospital suffering serious injuries.
Police and DOT officials closed Route 22 while detectives investigated the cause of the crash.
