The Union County Prosecutor's Office is currently conducting an active investigation into a tragic shooting incident that claimed the lives of two individuals earlier today.
At approximately 2 p.m., local officers were dispatched to a parking lot in the 1900 block of East Linden Avenue in response to reports of suspicious activities in the area.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered two unidentified individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Tragically, both victims -a man and a woman— were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have honed in on a vehicle in the parking lot of a Woodspring Suites Hotel believed to be connected to the double murder as they work diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, with no arrests reported at this time.
Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist in this critical investigation.
