BREAKING BRIDGEWATER NJ: Police Respond to Reports of Shots Fired at Bridgewater Mall

There is a significant police presence at the Bridgewater Mall as police investigate reports of shots fired on Thursday evening.

Police and SWAT rushed to the mall after they received several calls reporting loud popping noises around the vicinity of the mall at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Upon their arrival, officers searched the area but found no evidence of a shooting but they are looking into a person who reportedly used fireworks.

The investigation remains active and ongoing as police continue to conduct their search.

There were no injuries reported.

UPDATE: (8:28 p.m.) Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Chief of Detectives John W. Fodor, and Bridgwater Township Chief of Police Alfred Nicaretta announce that on June 14th at 6:27 p.m., Bridgewater Township Police responded to a fight in progress call at the food court located within the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

Bridgewater Mall security were able to seperate the individuals involved in the altercation which continued onto the exterior parking lot area of the mall. As officers were responding, a call of shots fired was reported to police.

The report of shots fired is under investigation and has not been confirmed at this time.

Bridgewater Police officers along with Detectives from the Bridgewater Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene and conducting the investigation.

There are no injuries to report at this time, no arrests or suspects have been identified. The area is secured by law enforcement.
