Passaic County authorities have issued an Amber Alert to thousands of residents, urging them to be on the lookout for a man who abducted a child overnight.
The alert was broadcasted around 1:35 a.m. Friday.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Mr. Junior Nunez, is a black male last seen in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey. He is the ex-boyfriend of the victim's mother.
He is driving a 2012 black Acura MDX with New Jersey license plate number "Y78SYU." According to reports, this vehicle was spotted in Manhattan.
The abducted child is a 2-year-old boy named Zander Abad.
UPDATE 5:19 am: Suspect apprehended in the area of Temple Street and Presidential Boulevard. The child has been found safe but EMS are en route to evaluate.
