Authorities are searching for a man accused of robbing a township BP Gas Station at gunpoint Wednesday night.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the BP Gas Station located at 1255 River Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers learned that an unidentified black male armed with a hand gun, approached the attendant who was inside the kiosk, demanding money.
The attendant complied, handing over approximately $395 in cash.
The suspect - described as a black male, approximately 6" tall, last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, blue jeans and shiny black and white sneakers - fled the area on foot.
Assisting in the investigation is the Ocean County Sheriff's Department K9 Unit as well as the Crime Scene Investigations Unit.
