Authorities responded to a bomb threat at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair on Saturday night, prompting an investigation by the Essex County Sheriff's Department.
Police were dispatched to 5 Seymour Street shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a potential explosive device.
Upon arrival, officers secured the area and notified nearby apartment buildings about the ongoing operation.
The theater and its surrounding areas were thoroughly searched, and no explosive devices were reported.
Police were searching for a person of interest, described as a white male last seen near a bathroom on the theater's balcony. He reportedly wore a black jacket, boots, and a red shirt.
Authorities have not confirmed if this individual is connected to the threat or is the person who made the call.
The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine the source and credibility of the threat.
