An investigation is underway into a body that was found early this morning near a park in the city's West Ward.
Police responded to reports of suspicious activities in the area of Mt. Vernon Place and Manor Drive at around 5:15 a.m
Upon arrival to the scene, they found the unidentified body of a person in the Ivy Hill Park.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that they were looking into the incident and would release additional information if and when it becomes available.
The identity and the gender of the person is unknown at this time.
