The National Weather Service (NWS) are alerting residents of Newark and the North Jersey region to prepare for a day of increased wind activity.

Although temperatures are expected to match those of yesterday, the wind will make it feel significantly colder, struggling to reach the same levels of comfort.

Residents are advised to dress warmly, as if for temperatures in the 30s, even though the thermometer will show a high temperature, near 44 degrees.

NWS forecasters say the wind, blowing from the west at 6 to 11 mph, will be a notable factor throughout the day, adding a brisk chill to the air.

As the evening approaches, the skies will remain mostly clear, but the low is expected to drop to around 28 degrees. The northwest wind will continue at around nine mph, ensuring the night stays cool.

This weather pattern calls for extra layers and wind-resistant clothing to stay comfortable.

Despite the sunny skies, the wind in Newark and North Jersey will bring a noticeable drop in the perceived temperature, making it feel more like a typical winter day.
