Authorities in Bloomfield are investigating several robberies that occurred near a shopping center on Friday evening.
According to reports, police were called to the area of Lexington Avenue and Fontaine Avenue for reports of an armed robbery in progress that occurred shortly before 6 p.m.
Arriving officers found the victim who reported to them that shortly before they arrived to the scene, two male suspects approached and physically forced a school bag, cash, and a cellphone from their possession.
The suspects then reportedly uttered a threat before speeding from the scene in a light colored vehicle reports said.
The suspects were described as black males last seen wearing dark clothing. They did not brandish a weapon reports said.
In separate incidents, reports of two other robberies that occurred in the parking lot of the Stop and Shop/ Marshalls Shopping Center had cops visible in the area at around 7 p.m.
Officers were seen with two males detained, with one of the men being taken away in handcuffs.
It is not immediately clear if the men were involved in the robberies.
Authorities did not return requests for public information.
