Authorities are investigating whether a man arrested for stealing an Amazon package may be connected to other recent thefts in the area. On March 2, Bloomfield police officers responded to a report of a package theft on the 200 block of Ampere Parkway.
According to a statement released by the Bloomfield Police Department, the caller described a man walking down the street pushing a bicycle while carrying an Amazon package—matching the description from a "Be On the Lookout" (BOLO) alert related to package thefts.
Officers stopped the suspect, identified as Mr. Raymond Tucker, 56, of Newark and confirmed that the package had been stolen from a nearby residence.
Tucker was taken into custody and transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that Tucker may be linked to additional thefts in the area, and the investigation remains ongoing.
