Bloomfield Police and Fire Departments Helping Kids Celebrate their Birthdays in Spite of Stay at Home Order

”Members of the Police and Fire Departments have been visiting houses of children who are celebrating birthdays while they are forced to stay at home”.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The Bloomfield Police and Fire Departments are helping children celebrate their birthdays despite not being able to have friends and family over for a proper birthday party.

Officers bring gifts for the kids and take pictures from a safe distance with them to try and cheer them up during this difficult time.

“I know how hard this must be for the children in our community that are forced to celebrate their birthdays without any of their friends,” said Mayor Michael Venezia.

“I am proud of the men and women in our Police and Fire Departments that are taking the time to bring joy to the kids in Bloomfield during this crisis.

Our community is a family and we will get through this together.”

Any parents that would like to have Bloomfield Police or Fire Department members show up to wish their kids a happy birthday should reach out to Lt. Naomi Zepeda at nzepeda@bloomfieldnjpd.com.

The email should include the child's name, age and address.
