A 36-year-old man has been charged in the death of a Camden woman who was killed in a crash on the Atlantic City Expressway in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
Officials say Luis Cream has been charged with second degree Vehicular Homicide for the death of Jalina Steele and two counts of fourth degree Assault by Auto for the crash that occurred on Nov. 19, 2017.
A joint investigation between the ACPO and the New Jersey State Police, concluded that Cream was the driver of a vehicle that collided with another vehicle (causing the two injuries for 4th degree victims) before going off the roadway and killing his passenger Steele, 34.
The investigation also concluded that Cream was driving under the influence. He was lodged in Atlantic County Justice Facility Dec. 18th, and Cream’s detention hearing is scheduled for Dec. 24th.
These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
