A bicyclist suffered non-fatal injuries after the rider was struck by a NJ Transit bus in Newark's North Ward Saturday evening.
Transit officials said that at approximately 5:50 p.m., a NJ TRANSIT bus operating on the 127 line headed to Bloomfield made contact with a bicyclist on Bloomfield Ave near Mt. Prospect Avenue in Newark.
Officials said the bicyclist was knocked to the ground while the bus pulled into the bus stop.
EMS transported the unidentified victim to University Hospital for treatment. Police say the injured suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Transit officials said no other injuries were reported to the bus operator or the 46 onboard customers.
Newark Police will lead the investigation.
