There were serious injuries reported for a bicyclist who was struck by a car in Newark early Friday morning.
It happened at around 5:25 a.m. near the intersection of South Orange and Littleton avenues where police received reports of an injured person at that location.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering injuries after a vehicle struck them according to preliminary reports.
EMS transported the victim the short distance to University Hospital where doctors began to treat the unidentified person's injuries.
The Newark Police Department will handle the investigation.
