Bergen County Residents Encouraged to Recycle Fall Décor in Allendale

This fall, residents of Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Waldwick, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River are being invited to give their seasonal decorations a second life through a composting initiative.AdOn Saturday, November 9, past-their-prime pumpkins, gourds, mums, and cornstalks can be dropped off for collection at Rohsler’s Allendale Nursery, located at 100 Franklin Turnpike, Allendale, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

(Note: straw bales will not be accepted.)

This sustainability project is spearheaded by the Allendale Green Team, with support from local organizations including the Allendale Scouts, the Northern Highlands Regional High School Environmental Awareness Club, and Rohsler’s Allendale Nursery. 

To encourage participation, Rohsler’s is offering a coupon valued at up to $20 to residents who contribute to the composting drive.
