A Belleville man was arrested on July 14 after attempting to steal multiple items from a supermarket in Bloomfield, according to a statement from the Bloomfield Police.
Officers responded to a report of shoplifting at the Stop & Shop located at 8 Franklin Street.
The Loss Prevention Officer reported that Mr. Miguel Collazo, 33, concealed lipstick and candles valued at $149.69 and tried to leave the store without paying.
Police located Collazo inside the store and placed him under arrest.
He was then transported to Bloomfield Police Headquarters for processing.
Bloomfield Police are continuing to assist businesses in the area as shoplifting and theft occurrences rise.
