There is very little information available regarding a crash that left one person dead late Friday night in Belleville.
According to initial reports from the scene, at around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Belleville Avenue and Franklin Avenue, a head-on crash that involved two vehicles sent emergency responders to the scene where at least one person was seriously injured at that location.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office have confirmed a fatality but could not release further information at the present time due to the investigation.
One person was transported to University Hospital immediately after the crash under police escort but it is unclear if the person that was transported was indeed the person that suffered fatally.
