Hudson County authorities announced that on Friday, February 17, Nysheed Gleaton, 24, of Bayonne, was sentenced to 22 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2022 shooting death of Rasheen Bostick in Jersey City.
According to authorities, Gleaton pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Manslaughter, a crime of the first degree, on Wednesday, July 27.
The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act. Jersey City Police say on Sunday, January 23, at approximately 12:28 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 30 block of Belmont Avenue.
According to Police, responding officers found a male – later identified as Rasheen Bostick, 32, of Jersey City – with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.
Emergency Medical Services transported him to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:55 p.m.
