A man who was choked with a lamp cord last month by his wife, died from his injuries this morning, according to authorities.
According to Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino, the unidentified man died this morning after being hospitalized since the Sept. 28.
On September 28, police responded to the West Fifth Street home sometime around 10:30 p.m. where they found the victim unconscious with his face purple and "bodily fluids and blood coming from his neck, after his wife, Michelle Hurley, 45, choked him with a chain link lamp cord.
Hurley was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a chain link lamp cord for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of the weapon regarding the lamp cord. However, charges are expected to be upgraded after the results of an autopsy.
