Two of Newark's community and sports legends will be honored Thursday at a showcasing of four talented basketball programs/teams.
Officials say the event honoring the late Ms. Shani Baraka and Mr. Zaid Braswell will focus on continuing the fight against Domestic Violence and is sponsored by the Weequahic Senior Class/ Bo Porter Chararities/ Rising Stars.
The games will be held on Thursday, January 30, and doors will open at 4:30 pm with University High School taking on Central High School in the girl's competition.
In the 7 p.m. boys game, Eastside High School with share the court with The Patrick School of Elizabeth.
The cost for adults is $15 and students will be charged $5.
