Police in Newark are investigating the motive behind a shots-fired incident in the city's South Ward Tuesday.
The early morning shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Weequahic Avenue.
Officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of shots fired.
When units arrived, they found multiple shell casings, but no victims were found after cops canvassed the scene.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene and remained at large.
