Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspect, who assaulted and robbed a victim of $300 and a cell phone on April 22.
According to Newark Police, officers responded to a call about the robbery, which occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. in the 100 block of Delancy Street.
Police say the victim was walking on Delancy Street when the suspect, a Black male, punched him in the face and demanded money as he fell to the ground.
The suspect took the victim’s cell phone and a book bag that had his wallet with the cash.
According to officials, the suspect fled westbound on Delancy Street towards Adam Street.
He wore a gray hat, blue jean jacket, blue jeans, and a green jersey with the number 34.
