Newark authorities request the public’s help in identifying a male suspect in connection with a business robbery that occurred on Friday, May 12.
According to Newark Police, at approximately noon, officers responded to the Metro PCS at 494 Springfield Avenue on a robbery call.
Police say a male walked into the store and demanded that the two workers give him cell phones while pointing what appeared to be a gun held inside his sweat jacket’s pocket.
The suspect stole six iPhones after forcing the workers to retrieve them from a safe.
According to Police, the suspect then fled on foot, heading east on Springfield Avenue towards Kent Street and Brenner Street.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect, who is described as Black with a dark complexion, 5’8” tall, with dreadlocks and slight facial hair.
He was wearing all-black clothing.
