Authorities Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Strike of Eight-Year-Old in Parsippany

Authorities in Morris County announced that an investigation is underway into the pedestrian death of a juvenile in Parsippany.AdMorris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said at approximately 5:34 p.m. on July 9, a 2022 Mazda CX5 traveling in the area of 189 Littleton Road in Parsippany struck an eight-year-old boy.

Officials stated paramedics from Denville Saint Clare’s and Par-Troy EMS responded, and the boy was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, officials said.

At this time, it is believed the victim was riding a bicycle when he was struck, authorities say. AdAccording to officials, the incident remains under active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department are participating in this investigation, officials say.
