Authorities Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Accident in New Brunswick

Middlesex County officials reported that an investigation is underway following a fatal pedestrian accident in New Brunswick Thursday morning. 

The incident occurred at approximately 12:48 a.m. when authorities were called to Townsend Street after reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Mr. Jarred Boyer of New Brunswick, who had been struck by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old local man.

Boyer sustained severe injuries and was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation, led by Officer Matthew Beltranena of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Ken McGarry of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, has so far determined that the driver struck Boyer with his vehicle, leading to the fatal injuries.
