A violent shooting in Irvington Township has left one male dead, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
The incident occurred near 321 21st Street shortly before 1:25 a.m. Monday.
Upon receiving reports of shots fired, Irvington Township Police officers arrived at the scene and discovered an unidentified individual suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, who was unresponsive at the time, received CPR from paramedics as they were rushed to University Hospital for urgent care.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said the unidentified male died of his injuries.
There is no suspect identity at this time.
