A North Plainfield man who was struck and killed Friday night near the Rahway train station has been identified.
The man was identified as Alexander D. Plaza, 25, of North Plainfield, officials announced.
Sometime around 11:30 p.m., Plaza was fatally struck by a train heading to New York City from Long Branch.
No injuries were reported among the 54 passengers and crew members on board.
The incident remains under investigation. It's still unclear how or why Plaza was on the tracks.
