Authorities Identify Man Killed in Plainfield Shooting

Authorities have released the identity of the man killed early this morning after shots rang out in Plainfield.

Police were called to the vicinity of the 900 block of Carnegie Avenue sometime around 6 a.m. to investigate a homicide, Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Capt. Vince Gagliardi confirmed Friday morning.

Upon arrival, police found 29-year-old Joshua Hartsfield, of Plainfield, who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remains under investigation.
