Authorities Identify Atlantic City Woman Shot, Killed

Authorities have identified the Atlantic City woman shot and killed in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Atlantic City Police responded last to the 400 block of North Virginia Avenue, Atlantic City, for a 9-1-1 report that a woman had been shot Sunday at approximately 11:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found as Shavonne M. McKee, 37, of Atlantic City.

McKee was transported by emergency medical responders to the AtlantiCare Medical Center—City Division, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Kelly Willman at 11:58 p.m.

An autopsy conducted by New Jersey State Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office Dr. Gerald Feigin determined that the cause of McKee’s death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled to be a homicide.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department continue the investigation.
