The fatal shooting of a Rahway man Monday night is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Tuesday.
The shooting victim has been identified as 21-year-old Nigel Morton.
It was approximately 10:10 p.m. Monday when Rahway Police Department patrol units rushed to a home on the 1200 block of Westfield Avenue to find Morton suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the investigation.
Morton was rushed to University Hospital in Newark for emergency medical treatment but died of his injuries at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
This matter remains under joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Rahway Police Department, with the Union County Sheriff’s Office ID Unit assisting.
