The man shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in Jersey City has been identified.
According to authorities, yesterday at approximately 3:30 p.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to Woodlawn Avenue on multiple 911 calls of shots being fired in the area.
Upon arrival, the responding officers found a lifeless body at 95 Woodlawn Avenue.
The deceased man, later identified as Rasheed Raysor, 19, of Jersey City, suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the upper torso during the incident.
Raysor was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:50 p.m.
The cause and manner of his death are pending an investigation by the Medical Examiner.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
