A 54-year-old woman killed Thursday evening after her vehicle went off the road in Gloucester County has been identified.
According to authorities, last night at around 10:15 p.m., several 911 calls came into headquarters reporting a motor vehicle crash with trapped occupant and a possible vehicle fire on Coles Mill Road near the Hospitality Creek Campground.
Police arrived at the scene and confirmed that the 2015 Honda CRV was overturned with the driver trapped inside the vehicle.
Officials say shortly thereafter, responders found the driver - later identified as Brigid Bartley, 54, of Hammonton - dead in the car.
Crews worked to extricate the driver while police conducted the crash investigation.
A preliminary investigation determined, that the Honda was traveling east on Coles Mill Road near to the intersection with the Old Black Horse Pike and as it approached the sharp bend in the road, the vehicle’s right side tires left the road causing the vehicle to go off-road where it struck a utility pole and several trees.
Officials say the white Honda then flipped over and stopped approximately 120 feet after it left the road.
The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Michael Gabbianelli of the MTPD Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information can call 856-728-9800 x566 or email trafficsafety@monroetownshipnj.org
