A couple from Burlington County have been identified as the two people that were killed last week in a crash.
According to authorities, police responded to the area near the Pine Meadow Apartments on West Hampton Street Wednesday shortly after noon for a report of a crash.
Officials say George DeMaio Jr., 70, of Browns Mills, for unknown reasons lost control of his SUV and veered onto oncoming traffic, striking a pickup.
Police say George and his passenger 62-year-old Bernadette DeMaio, were transported to Virtua in Mount Holly, where they were later pronounced dead.
According to authorities, the occupants of the other vehicle, a 35-year-old man and a 29-year-old man, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
