Authorities charged a man for the May 14 fatal shooting in Camden, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Joseph Wysocki.
Officials say Mr. Dwayne Hightower, 41, of Camden, has been charged with one count of first-degree Murder.
Investigators said Hightower shot Andre Reevey, 34, of Camden, near Hemlock Walk. When police arrived, they found Reevey outside suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead according to police.
Through the investigation, detectives determined Reevey had been shot inside a nearby apartment and someone attempted to clean up the crime scene.
Hightower was detained by the Collingswood Police Department and was charged on May 29.
He is currently being held in the Camden County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
