Authorities Arrest Man for Fatal Valentines Day Shooting in Newark

Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that Fateem T. Moses, 35, of Newark has been arrested and charged with the murder of Omar Faines, 31, of Newark.

Authorities said Faines was fatally shot on Feb. 14 on Rose Terrace in Newark and that Moses is charged with murder and weapons offenses.

Bail was set at $750,000 by the Honorable John Zunic, Judge of the Superior Court. Moses is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

These are accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty in a court of law.
