Authorities in Warren County are investigating a serious collision that left an ATV rider with severe injuries in Independence Township on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred around 5:10 p.m. near Route 46 in the Great Meadows-Vienna section of the township.
Police and EMS responded to the scene and found the rider unconscious and unresponsive after colliding with a deer that had entered the roadway.
The unidentified victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently listed in life-threatening condition.
A crime scene unit and a fatal crash investigation team have been called to assist with the ongoing investigation.
