Attention Husbands: The Expense Of Freedom

New Jersey

By: O.L./Sway Buckley

A famous statement says, "Freedom ain't free. It will cost somebody to sacrifice."

I come from a family where many of my loved ones served in the military.

Likewise, my wife (Sway) comes from a family where many serve in the U.S. Military.

Memorial Day is when we acknowledge those who served us to protect our Freedom—the freedoms we uniquely enjoy (even today).

Operating Systems ChecklistIf there's such a thing as no perfect person, then it stands to reason there's no such thing as a perfect people/nation. Anywhere.

The world of entrepreneurship and legacy building is to be included.

There's no such thing as perfect teams, vendors, designers, sales associates, and leaders.

What does any of this have to do with Freedom or Memorial Day?

As we acknowledge those, who served in our military,

it's good to be grateful for love, support, and protection.

Moreover, to be thankful for sacrifice.

Sacrifice is how people get better. It's how families, communities, and nations flourish.

As Marriedpreneurs, what is Freedom worth to us? Significantly, as legacy builders, how are we advancing our families' and communities' growth and development? Or are we? Are we working to secure the future?

Marriedpreneur LifeI think the answer could be revealed by asking, in what ways are we sacrificing and for whom?

My uncle, who served and retired in the Navy, did it to secure and advance the future. My cousin served in the Air Force and built a life for his family-to secure and advance the future.

My wife's loved ones did it for the same reasons.

They had an opportunity and seized it. That opportunity played a role in providing us with more options. Opportunities (that are worthy and worthwhile) will involve sacrifice and risk. I've never met a Marriedpreneur who grew a thriving business(that benefited others) and wasn't grateful. As we acknowledge the gift of our friends and loved ones, let's also be a people of sacrifice.

Ultimately, the most significant way to say "thank you for your service" is to serve. And there are many ways to serve, including through business/commerce. Building an impactful business has as its bedrock serving our market at the highest levels.
