The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Major Crimes Unit, and Somers Point Police Department are investigating a woman's death in that city on Saturday morning.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Saturday, March 4, at around 7:23 am, Somers Point Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of 3rd Street for a report of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, Prosecutor Reynolds said officers located a female inside a residence.
The unidentified woman was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. Prosecutor Reynolds said there is no threat to the public as a result.
The investigation is ongoing.
