Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Thursday, September 21, Bao “Joanna” Huynh, 36, of Brigantine, was sentenced to six years in New Jersey State Prison, where she must serve 85% of that sentence before being eligible for parole for second-degree vehicular homicide related to a fatal motor vehicle crash that killed a Lindenwold man on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
According to officials, on June 26, 2021, at 12:17 p.m., Hector Salgado, 54, was killed when a motor vehicle operated by Huynh struck his Dodge work van in Brigantine.
Officials say at the time of the impact, Mr. Salgado was loading paint and other work supplies into his van from a residential work site he was parked outside of.
The impact of the crash caused his van to collide with him, killing him instantly.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Huynh’s use of numerous narcotics caused a state of intoxication and impaired her ability to operate the motor vehicle.
