The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department are investigating a crash where a vehicle left the scene after a female pedestrian was struck and killed, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.
According to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Shill, on Tuesday, July 28, at 12:02 a.m., Star Wardell, 61, of Egg Harbor Township was crossing Washington Avenue in Egg Harbor Township when she was struck and killed by a vehicle.
The vehicle involved in the crash fled the area and was not located on the scene when police arrived.
This investigation is active and ongoing in a cooperative effort by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
