Atlantic City Men Charged with Maintaining, Operating Drug Production Facility

Two Atlantic City men have been arrested and charged with maintaining and operating a drug production facility and multiple drug charges after the execution of a search warrant in Atlantic City on Monday December 18, 2017, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

According to authorities, on Dec. 18th, members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, along with the assistance of the Atlantic County Regional SWAT Team, executed a court authorized search warrant at the Atlantic City residence, which was used or occupied by Ahmaad Williams, 23, and 20 year-old Yahshaun K. Williams.

During the course of the investigation the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office seized over 1,000 bags of heroin, approximately 3.9 grams of unbagged heroin, over $800 in US currency and drug distribution paraphernalia.

Police located Yahshaun K. Williams inside the residence during the search warrant execution and was taken into custody without incident and charged with first degree, Maintaining/Operating a CDS Production Facility and the following criminal offenses:

* Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, 3rd Degree

* Possession of Heroin, 3rd Degree

* Possession with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Park, 2nd Degree

* Tampering with Physical Evidence, 4th Degree

* Conspiracy to Maintain a Production Facility/Poss. CDS in Public Zone, 2nd Degree

* Conspiracy to Distribute/Poss. w/Intent to Distribute CDS, 3rd Degree

* Hindering Apprehension of Another (Ahmaad Williams), 3rd Degree

* Hindering his own Apprehension, 3rd Degree

Atlantic City Municipal Court Judge Henry Warner found probable cause for the issuance of the above arrest warrant and subsequent detention of Yahshaun Williams.

Police said that on Dec. 19th, at approximately 2 p.m., Ahmaad Williams came to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and turned himself in on First Degree Charges of Maintaining/Operating a CDS Production Facility, under a warrant that was approved by Atlantic City Municipal Court Judge Henry Warner on December 18, 2017.

This arrest warrant was issued for the below offenses:

* Maintaining/Operating a CDS Production Facility, 1st Degree

* Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, 3rd Degree

* Possession of Heroin, 3rd Degree

* Possession with Intent to Distribute within 500 feet of a Public Park, 2nd Degree

* Conspiracy to Maintain a Production Facility/Poss. CDS in Public Zone, 2nd Degree

* Conspiracy to Distribute/Poss. w/Intent to Distribute CDS, 3rd Degree

A judge ordered Ahmaad Williams to be transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he was lodged pending a detention hearing.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit were assisted with the investigation that began in October 2017, by members of the Atlantic City Police Department Vice Unit, Brigantine Police Department, and Hamilton Township Police Department.

These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
